Aerovox’s line of SuperMet capacitors utilize state of the art metallized polypropylene film technology. This latest design material has combined leading edge design techniques with over forty years of capacitor experience. All SuperMet capacitors incorporate a UL recognized pressure sensitive interrupter to remove the capacitor from the circuit at end of life.
Each capacitor is filled with an Epoxidized Soybean oil dielectric fluid. Soybean-Oil has proven reliability throughout several previous decades. Soybean-oil is environmentally compatible and biodegradable. The Soybean-Oil protects metallized film from corrosion,aids heat transfer, and helps suppresses the degrading effects of corona, which may otherwise cause premature failures. Proprietary processing with vacuum and heat cycles ensures complete removal of moisture,resulting in superior capacitance stability and long term reliability.
